One of the important problems in the production of electricity from wind is forecasting it. This is a complex task. Based on experience in creating and maintaining Early Warning System for Stara Zagora region, Consortium "MS&E" has developed a Forecasting System for Electricity Production from Wind (FSEPW).
Here is demonstrated the work of FSEPW in real time. It is projected the production of two wind power plants (WiPP) located in different regions in Bulgaria. For the results to be comparable both WiPPs have the same generators and the same installed capacity - 35 MW. Thus,the differences in the produced electricity shall be determined by the differences in the characteristics of the density of wind energy in both places.
The prognosis is automatically generated twice a day - at 9 and 21.
It is for a period of 72 hours (three days). It is presented in graphic and in tabular form.
